The History

In 1998 our pastor heard Gods voice calling him to step out on faith to start a work for Christ. He prayed and fasted during his time of preparation with his wife by his side, they opened the doors of their home in 2000 to eight members that would help make up the start of his ministry. It began to become a bit crowded so they decided to move on to renting a building and then another one that ended up closing down but it was just a sign that it just wasn’t home for the church. After praying and asking for guidance once more they found the location that we reside  now in Montevallo,AL in 2008 and we have been there ever since. With hard work and dedication we have paid the church off and looking forward to seeing what God has in store for Bethesda next.

Our Beliefs

We believe that salvation comes only through the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the only begotten Son of God, conceived of the Holy Ghost and born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. (Matthew 1:21; Matthew 12:39-40; Matthew 20:17-19; John 3:16)
– The second coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, including the rapture and revelation. (Matthew 24:27; I Thessalonians 4:15-17; Revelation 19:11-16)
-All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Repentance to God for every believer is necessary for the forgiveness of sin. (Romans 3:23)
-Water baptism by immersion, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, is for the remission of sin. (Acts 2:38; Romans 6:34)
-All believers have a Pentecost experience upon receiving and indwelling of the Holy Ghost and gives you the power to live a righteous life. (Acts 1:8; 2:1-4)
-The children of God are required to live a holy and sanctified life. (Romans 12:1-2; II Timothy 2:19; Ephesians 4:24-28; I Peter 3:8-18)
-We are saved by grace through faith. (Ephesians 2:8)
-Jesus Christ is God incarnate in the flesh. (1Tim.3:16; John 1:14; 10:30; Philippians 2:6-8)
-The Lord’s Supper should be commemorated. (I Corinthians 11)
-That God blesses His children financially through giving and tithing, which is a form of worship. (Proverbs 3:9; Malachi 3:8-10; Luke 6:38)
-The Bible is the infallible Word of God and that all scripture (Old and New Testament) governs the lives of Christians. (II Timothy 2:15; I Corinthians 13:7)
-That sin separates man from God. The only way to reconcile man to God is to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior and apply His blood to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (Ephesians 1:7; I John 1:7-10; Revelation 1:5)
-That in order to be written in the book of life, one must be born again. (John 3:3-5)
-We should be given to hospitality through customer service and support which exemplifies the Love of Christ. (Romans 12:13)
