Children’s Ministry

Here at Bethesda Apostolic Worship Center we like to honor our children for they are the future of this universe. Children love to be celebrated so we do as we can for them to feel as loved as possible while here. We believe that church should be a comfort and safe zone for the children of the community when coming here. On Sundays the children have an opportunity to be themselves around other students engaging in: playing, singing, studying together and learning about Christ. During appropriate holidays they learn skits, songs, speeches and more to go before the congregation. Our children love it here because they get to be active in the church and we so are thankful for all of the parents that bring their kids to worship with us.
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”- Proverbs 22:6

Monday Bible Study

Campus Edition
Monday nights are for prayer at the church (6pm) and college campus bible study. The University of Montevallo has graciously allowed us to be able to come and minister to the students through having a bible study. How many of us wish that we were able to be apart of a bible study group while at college? Being a student sometimes leaving is a struggle with transportation so we are glad that we can have the opportunity to be there for them on campus. The service starts every Monday at 6 p.m. at Farmer Hall, if in the area we would love for you to join us.

Prayer in the city

There is so much going on in the world today and everyone is not going to church. We as a church have to step out of our comfort zone of the four walls of the building and out into the streets! Bethesda has created a no judgment zone mindset when going out to minister to those that are not typically seen at the church house. It does not matter at the moment what they are doing nor saying, all we want is to take the time out to tell them about our Lord and savior whether they receive it or not, is up to them. Our job is to minister to people and spread the gospel and that’s exactly what we plan on continuing to do. Saturdays are typically for resting time for most but just imagine if you were to; put the phone down, put on your tennis shoes and t shirt and take just one hour of your time walking the streets of the community to tell a couple people about the great God you serve. Lets sit here for a second and think… you can help someone today decide to come to Christ. What a wonderful feeling that would be right?
[19] Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: [20] Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.-Matthew 28:19-20

Sisters In Red

Sisters in Red is a program that our Only Lady Janet Bivins has annually. This particular program has been our best one to date with the women’s ministry. In February is a season of love and also heart awareness month, why not share love and share awareness with our sisters in Christ? Women from different churches come out to support in their “red” to unite and worship the Lord. There has been some amazing stories being told, songs praise dances and don’t let us get started on telling you about the speakers, just AWESOMENESS. We challenge you to come join us next year, be on the look out for the date. You don’t want to miss it!
